Jubiliation at the Earth's Grand Depression...
Life is full of ups and downs and nature couldn't have said it in a more emphatic manner than her rendering of the Grand Canyon. The mighty mountains that once were to be lay ruined as a river persevered to find its destiny and in its mammoth efforts carved a wonder to behold. The Grand Canyon trip was a revelation to me in more ways than one. As I sat down on one of the cliffs looking below at the infinite depth beneath me and the vastness all around, I could feel an overpowering sense of detachment with all that bound me cherishing the joy of the flight of a bird flying free in the clear blue skies. But then everyone who absorbs the canyon should experience similar bouts of freedom at some point of being there.
The depths that the Canyon could reach was of a more obvious nature but what was subconsciously revealed to me was how deep I could reach within in terms of being close to someone who was external. To someone like me who is most intimate with self, the visit to the Grand Canyon made me realise that at some point of time in one's life there would be someone special who would go all the way along with you to the inner depths of your heart, mind and soul. And I shall revisit to thank the Canyon for this vision with that someone if she exists...
Such is the inspiration to be had at the the Canyon in all its devastated splendour.
